Wandering around Reddish Vale
Another day and it was another short drive to spend some time wandering around Reddish Vale country park.
It was pretty much a case of the usual suspects when it came to the wildlife with the exception of a pond turtle/terrapin that was soaking up the sunshine on a floating platform in the middle of the small pond.
I’m not really quite sure what the difference is between a terrapin and a pond turtle – other than the environment that they live in, on the basis this one is in freshwater I’ll go with it being a terrapin as a definition I found online said that: broadly speaking the word terrapin is used to describe those chelonians living in freshwater, while the word turtle is reserved for those in marine environment. Any which way it was nice to see during our visit.
