Manchester City Champions again ole’ ole’ – days to remember
It seems almost like yesterday when I was writing about Manchester City winning The Treble, in fact it was last June, less than a year ago, and it’s just a few weeks since I wrote about the most recent visit to Wembley and the FA Cup semi-final.
And once again, less than 12 months after wring about the Treble it’s time for another ‘picture post’ from yet another fine day at the Etihad Stadium.
Four in a row
On this occasion it marks another league title – the fourth consecutive Premier League title – four in a row!
It’s an achievement that has never been done before, even for a team of City’s outstanding ability it’s a pretty remarkable achievement.
This title makes it six titles in seven years and a total of eight in the last 12 years, which by any standards and any measure is astonishing.
There could be more
I have watched enough football over the years to know that nothing is guaranteed and nothing lasts for ever.
But there is a possibility of another trophy being added to the collection in the next few days when City travel to the national stadium again to play Manchester United in the 2024 FA Cup Final.
Winner takes it all
But knockout football where the winner takes all is never certain even when one of the teams is in better form than the other – that’s the nature of it and to some extent it’s part of the attraction of the game – the all or nothing nature of a cup final is something to savour.
Over the years we have experienced the winning and losing – so we will travel to the national stadium hoping for the best, but in the certain knowledge that not even the best teams win all the time. Any which way a trip to Wembley is always a good day out.

There are plenty of pictures (more than normal) taken from the South Stand of the Etihad stadium as City become Champions again.
