Autumn colours in black & white

It’s hard to beat the autumn colours and a recent walk along a local canal and conservation area highlighted again just how stunning the colours can be.

For this photo’ set I have presented almost all of the pictures in black and white – maybe not to everyones taste, but to me it seems as though you can still almost ‘see; the colours even though the images are stripped of colour.

Why do we call this time of the year autumn? The word autumn comes from the Latin word autumnus,and apparently has within it connotations of the passing of the year
