Tiny worlds: a look at garden life through a macro lens

Garden macro

A quick catch‑up from early summer, built around a handful of macro shots taken in the garden. Nothing complicated — just a quiet look at some of the small details that usually can slip past unnoticed  when you’re out there watering or working in the garden.

Plants, insects, textures, colours… all the tiny worlds that only show themselves when you slow down and get really close.

Equipment used

All the shots were taken with the Canon EOS 90D, paired with the Sigma 105mm f/2.8 DG Macro HSM. It’s a decent combination for close up pictures. Macro photography isn’t something I do all year round.  Which in turn means I often find it feels like a fresh start. So macro settings and techniques have to be remembered and practised and I am very aware that there is a lot of room for improvement.

Despite feeling that I am always ‘starting again’ it’s an enjoyable way to pass some time, which all too often seems to be in short supply!
