Pennington Flash nature reserve – a short photo based post.
We recently made another visit to Pennington Flash nature reserve in Leigh, Greater Manchester.
We’ve been a couple of times before, and there’s a post from our previous visit available on the blog.
Back then I described Pennington Flash as a large lake and country park, easily reached from Manchester and just under 30 miles from home. The area was shaped from former mining land and developed into a wide lake of around 70 hectares, surrounded by managed wetlands, meadows and woodland.
It’s always worth a visit, and the on‑site café continues is a decent place for drinks and refreshments. Each time we’ve been, the service has been spot on.
This time we took a steady walk/amble around the reserve. Bird watching, and some photography made for a decent and relaxed couple of hours together.
