🛩️ another enjoyable visit to Manchester’s Barton Aerodrome
Regular visitors to the blog will know a visit to Manchester Barton Aerodrome is something that we have done a good few times over the years. I think the last time I posted following a visit to the aerodrome was back in November 2021, which you can see at this link.
If you have any sort of interest in aircraft it can be a decent way to pass some time and I don’t think we have ever been with our grandchildren and not enjoyed it.
The pictures in this post were from a visit there in July, it’s only now that I have a little time to catch up with things.
Easy to get there
The location is easy enough to find. It’s actually in Eccles (part of Greater Manchester).
From the city centre it would take about 20 minutes or so to drive there, and is just a few minutes of the M60 motorway (Junction 11). Car parking is free, there is a play area for small children and a decent and sensibly priced cafe/restaurant area.
If you want to know more about the history of the aerodrome – you can read more here.
On this visit
On this visit we called in with our nephew who was spending the day with us – it wasn’t especially busy but we enjoyed our visit there along with a decent coffee in the ‘Departure Lounge’ cafe
Before you head to the picture gallery below
I’m in catch up mode at the moment with the blog. My last trip that you can read about was when I headed back to Ireland last month, you can check it out with this link.
I’m heading off soon to Spain and Portugal and as ever there will be plenty of information and pictures following that trip and that will be over on the motorbike blog. Other travel plans that my wife and I have scheduled, and that I’ll write about here: include trips to Belgium, Germany, Ireland and Scotland. So don’t forget to check back for those or subscribe to the blog so as to be notified of new posts.
There will probably be a few posts in the next few days as I catch up with the ‘backlog’.
Thanks for visiting and reading

I don’t write blog posts when I’m travelling but I do post on Instagram. If you want to follow the upcoming Spain and Portugal trip you can do that at this link
