FA Cup Final Wembley 2025 – Crystal Palace v Manchester City

FA Cup Final Wembley 2025 – Crystal Palace v Manchester City

Another day out and another trip to Wembley to watch Manchester City play. This time it was against Crystal Palace in the 2025 FA Cup Final.

Regular readers will know that producing a blog post after a trip to Wembley has become a regular event, in fact Manchester City have visited Wembley over 30 times since 2011.

It’s an exceptional and extraordinary achievement.  I have been at almost all of those games. The Covid-era final and the last couple of Community Shield matches, were games I chose not to attend.

In the post following the recent semi final against Nottingham Forest I wrote:

These Community Shield games often lack full-strength line-ups for a variety of reasons. Given the travel involved, it can be difficult to justify the time and effort for what is essentially a non-competitive fixture—especially when scheduling is dictated more by television audiences than by the interests of match-going fans.

Always an opportunity to people watch

It’s a great opportunity for people watching and if looking at people at big events floats your boat then you can see blog posts and pictures from previous Wembley visits at the following links

Win or lose it’s almost always enjoyable

A trip to Wembley is almost always an enjoyable experience and a great day out.

I’ve seen City win plenty of times there and I’ve seen them lose a few times. Although losing a cup final is a disappointment it never quite feels as bad as you think it might.

I’m not sure if that feeling is because as a Manchester City fan there’s a remarkable familiarity with the occasion or whether it’s simply a mental acceptance that there can only be one winner and the day is simply what it is – a good day out.

Street scenes from the final

There is little of any originality for me to say about a Wembley trip, but the opportunities for people watching and snapping a few photographs are always worth it.

This post is simply  a ‘picture post’ from the day and not a match write up .

If you want to read match reports they are easy enough to find – you can see the City perspective at this link.

Picture post

So as I have little to add to the millions of words already generated about the game this is a simple picture post.
