Night time use and pictures from the DJI Mini 4 Pro drone.
I posted a few weeks ago about selling one of my lenses and buying a drone.
The drone I bought and am using is the DJI mini 4 pro. It’s the first drone I have had and so have no previous experience to compare it to.
Early impressions are that at the same time as being really easy to grasp the basics of using it, there is a degree of complexity to understand everything it can do and make the most of it.
Early intentions
My intentions when I bought the drone were to make sure that I could understand how to use it before an upcoming trip to Scotland (near the Isle of Skye). That trip is now fast approaching and I’m pretty confident in my grasp of how to use it.
The proof of the pudding of course is in the eating … or in this case it will be in the pictures and/or video that I post on this blog before the end of the month.
Overall, although I have much to learn to make the most of the drone I would say so far so good – and I am really looking forward to the better weather to get it into the air more often. Next up is Scotland and I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed for some dry weather and not too much wind.

These are the first pictures I have taken at night with the drone. In fact it was the first time I have used the Mini 4 Pro at night. The automatic take off and landing light is pretty impressive, it illuminates at take off and stays on until about the 7m height mark and provides a remarkable level of light.
