I don’t suppose there is a bad time of year to be wandering along the canal network. Although I love spring and summer it’s hard to beat autumn for the rich variety of colour that the season brings. Wandering along some of our local canals is testament to that.
The pictures in the photo gallery below were taken over several days. Most were taken on a local stretch of the Peak Forrest canal the others are taken on a stretch of the Macclesfield canal, all of them are pretty self explanatory.
Autumn watch on the canal
It dosnt really seem to matter what time of day I take a walk along the waterways, it seems there is always someting to see – even some of the ‘industrial views’ can have their own appeal. But don’t take my word for it, have a look at the pictures and make your own mind up.
