Autumn watch along the Peak Forest canal

Early walk along the canal

I posted recently about the autumn views I have been enjoying along the canal. I also recently wrote and posted some ‘different’ pictures from my autumn walks showing the work to clear and dredge the canal.

Yesterday I was along the Peak Forest canal again. This time I was early and alongside the River Tame by around 07:30am before taking a leafy path up to the canal. Although there was next to no wildlife about it was another enjoyable walk.

The heavy rain and winds of the last day or two had brought down plenty of leaves to provide a crunchy autumnal carpet. The pictures in the photo set below are simply a selection of autumn pictures from my walk.
